Our take
Deel is a genuinely strong platform, and for what it is built to do — Employer of Record across 150+ countries and contractor management at scale — it is excellent. If you need to employ people in countries where you have no legal entity, Deel is the right tool and Mellow is not an alternative to it. The question to ask is what you actually need. If most of your people are employed through your own entities in the UK, Ireland, the US, the UAE, India, or Australia, you may be paying EOR and managed-payroll prices for breadth you don't use. Mellow runs native HR and payroll across those six countries, with payroll included and AI assistants that draft documents and explain the figures Mellow computes for you — and UK RTI generated ready to file with HMRC. Even the full Intelligence tier at £30 is cheaper than Deel's managed payroll add-on at roughly $29 — before EOR. Many businesses end up using both: Mellow for the workforce in their own entities, Deel for the genuine EOR edge cases.
